Take the less familiar path.
Jungle tracks, village roads and northern canyons. There is more than one way to get outside in Bali.
iAn active day does not need to become an endurance test. Choose the landscape you want to spend time in, then the activity that suits your group. Around Ubud, that might mean a jungle track or a bicycle ride through the countryside. In the north, a canyon asks for a more dedicated day.
Through the jungle by ATV
Alasan Adventure, in Bresela north of Ubud, describes an eight-kilometre route through bamboo and wet tracks, including its Gorilla Cave section. Riding time is around 60–90 minutes, with a practice session and a lunch offering at Cretya Sunset. Single and tandem formats have different requirements. We check driver ages, passenger suitability and the current physical limits with the operator before confirming your group.
A slower view from a bicycle
Alasan’s country cycling route moves through the Taro and Ubud countryside, taking in village roads, a Balinese house and cultivated landscapes. This is an organised activity with participation requirements, rather than an unrestricted bicycle rental. Tell us the ages, heights and confidence of the riders and we will check the group format and suitability. If you prefer a gentler encounter with village life, choose a guided walk instead.
iGive the north a full day
Kalimudah canyoning is based around Gitgit in northern Bali. The operator describes two to three hours in the canyon within a full-day programme, with training and equipment. Participants need average fitness, the ability to swim 25 metres and a minimum age of 12; the optional jump is not the whole experience. It deserves its own day in your itinerary, including travel from where you are staying.
Build around your group’s comfort
One outdoor experience is usually enough of an anchor. Add a meal or leave time at your accommodation, rather than stacking several demanding activities. Tell us who wants to participate and who would prefer a different plan. Your chauffeur, guide and return arrangements can be considered together, with the operator confirming weather, access and activity requirements for your dates.
